This Shenandoah National Park hike is near Old Rag Mountain, but less well known. Depending on the number of hikers, carpooling may be necessary. Total hike length is 8.5 miles with an elevation gain of 2,210 ft. Not for younger children, but moderately experienced hikers should be fine. Will pass small waterfalls and pools, so a quick refreshing dip is possible coming down from the Bear Church Rock overlook. Pack a lunch and plenty of water (2-3 liters). The drive to the trail head is ~2 hours from Richmond. Leave from Gaskins Road parking lot (Gaskins and Mayland Drive). More info about trail HERE.

Volunteers needed to assist with a fun water day for the kids in summer camp at CHAT. The plan is to have 9 stations with different water events (balloon toss and other water related events). There will be about 65-80 third-eighth grader kids. Volunteers will work at the stations or be floaters/runners to make sure everything runs smoothly. We'll also be providing snacks for the kids. This is a great way to show Richmond that Area 10 is FOR THE CITY!

Let's see if we have what it takes to ESCAPE!
Escape Room RVA is a puzzle based room where you are "locked in" and try to see if you can find your way out in 1 hour. I've reserved 2 rooms for the afternoon:
• Glitch in the Matrix (may cause seizures). www.escaperoomrva.com/glitch-in-the-matrix/
• Judgement at the Pearly Gates. www.escaperoomrva.com/judgementescaperoom/
Both rooms have a max capacity of 10 people. Even if you don't think you are into puzzles, you'd be surprised! Each room has a variety of problems to solve; some simple and some not so much.
Cost is $20.00 per person and is payable on the 17th.

This 8-week (7/11/16 - 8/2916) study will go through Stormie Omartian's The Power of a Praying Woman, in which we will look at emphasizing prayer in key areas of our lives-relationships, health, emotions, work, and more. You do not necessarily need to buy the book to attend. We also understand that summer often means travels, so it's ok if you need to miss sometimes! Childcare is provided. (Women attending with children will be expected to contribute $25 for childcare.)
